Pretty and meaningful

I've been thinking a lot lately that its time to get that tattoo I've always wanted. My 27th birthday is the perfect occasion b/c as my boyfriend would say "you don't want to be past your prime". Hahaha, I understand his hesitation, lack of excitement, and trail of questions. I'm sure and doubtful all at the same time. I want to make sure I'm getting this for all the right reasons too.

I'm scared of what my family might think, because even though tattoos are more popular these days and have gained more social acceptance, I still want to make sure my mom and dad agree. I've chosen a design but have yet to choose an appropriate location. Is the point of a tattoo to show it off? I'd like to be slightly modest and at the same time be proud of my new self-identifying ink. dilemma. Choosing an artist you trust is no easy task. Adjusting to a new body will be interesting, mirror-images can be deceiving and opinions the like.

Sergio would be proud I'm thinking this through... I tend to be slightly impulsive but this is something I want to remember fondly.
